PhD Heritage Studies

The PhD (180 ECTS) takes 6 semesters.

Its aim is:

  • to consolidate the research into the relationship between History and Cultural Heritage;
  • to promote the consolidation of Cultural Heritage as an epistemological area of knowledge;
  • to promote the study of different types of Heritage and new lines of research that take into account the great issues of the day (sustained growth, urban regeneration, eco-conservation and cultural tourism);
  • to encourage the emergence of research, management and dissemination projects for Portuguese cultural heritage in various forms.
